Sea View House
Brick was employed to assist with the renovation of a 1930s house in Cornwall for a budget of £700,000. We provide architectural and interior design services to transform the coastal property into a minimal, light, and calm home for our clients.
The main intervention involved elevating the living accommodation to an open plan upper floor space to maximise views of the Mawgan Porth Bay and out to sea. An existing flat ceiling was also removed to expose the timber roof structure and joists above. These were carefully refurbished and now emphasise height whilst providing an architectural focus for the space.
Multiple extensions to the property were formed, one of which created a first-floor terrace that connects to the living space and provides panoramic coastal views. Contemporary architectural details were carefully incorporated, including a timber open-tread staircase and metal dividing screen, polished concrete floors, floor-to-ceiling doors, and a metal-clad kitchen.
