Celebration

Brick Architects designed a new 3-bedroom house in the contemporary vernacular style for a back-land site in Cornwall. The layout is arranged around a central linking atrium and open circulation space in the middle of the plan. Accommodation is arranged off this space with a subtle change in direction in response to site constraints.

Living spaces are elevated to first-floor level to access sea views and a break has been formed in the massing to create a first-floor terrace with an external fireplace. Materiality is simple and appropriate for the context: local Cornish stone and timber cladding are primarily used. The project is currently at the planning application stage and we hope to have approval soon.
